Cooling water treatment plant

Projectstudies for cooling water treatment plant for a steelplant in Saudi Arabia

From 2010 to 2014 we did three different studies for cooling water treatment plants for steelplants in Saudi Arabia. The 30 years old plants should be renewed to meet today requirements concering the increasing of output, operating reliability, energy efficiency and environmental safety.

Together with engineers of our customer we analysed the existing plant and checked the bottle necks. From the results in accordance with new requirements from the steel plant we developed a concept for the entire system. The realisation should be during some shut downs between 2015 and 2018.

Our part of study included:

  • High voltage main-substation
  • 34kV Cablebridge
  • Transformer station
  • Emergency power supply
  • E-buildings and rooms for MCC and PLC cabinets
  • Pumpingstation
  • Control stand
  • Automation and instrumentation

Our main tasks:

Meetings with coustomer in Saudi Arabia
Site surveys and checking existing equipment
Checking of existing documents
Creating of the study description
Development of an automation concept and a hardware layout
Calculation of the energy consumption (energybalance)
Drawing of singleline diagrams
Definition of new E-buildings and rooms
Planning of new cable bridges.
